From June 21 through July 4 at the Manning Hausbarn-Heritage Park, 130 Heritage Drive, in Manning, Iowa, there will be a display, called Germans and the Global Connection.  It will be available for viewing in the Conference Center daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m..  Admission to the display is free.  The display chronicles the difficulties and contributions of Germans immigrants to Iowa.  Manning Hausbarn-Heritage Park is the home of the German Hausbarn, which was built in Germany in 1660, dismantled and sent to Manning in 1996 and reconstructed in 1999.  Manning and Carroll County rank high in the state’s German immigration and there will be additional items in the display from the local area.
